Digital Dental Lab

Is your dental lab staying up to date on the advancing digital processes that are changing the way both dentist and lab produce restorations?

The reality is that the future is here. In a world of dental lab consolidation, more dentists are considering their lab situations. Dentists are asking, “Do I change to a lab who ‘gets it’ and can help me navigate through these new digital technologies?” Our mantra that “we are here to make the dentists job as easy as possible,” truly reflects our desire to help in this decision.

We understand that it’s difficult to stay up on every new technology, while at the same time maintaining a vibrant and relevant dental practice. Dentist’s who work with us find again the “value-added” advantage of Robertson Dental Lab by trusting us to provide the transitional on-ramp to digital dentistry.

Digital Scanning

Our five digital scanners including, 3-shape D700, D2000 and Sirona X5, receive your digital scans. Once we download your STL file, we digitally design your zirconia or emax restoration to proper shape contour and anatomy. If you prefer traditional analog impressions (PVS impression) – no problem, we can digitally scan your impressions, mill your crown, and print a model using traditional impression-taking techniques. In our fully-digital environment, STL files and CBCT Dicom files are merged allowing us to create custom made, precise and trustworthy guided surgical guides.

Milling Center

A continuous workflow from scan and design to our on-site milling center allows for non-stop processing of your cases. Our milling center includes Roland DWX 510, Roland DWX 50, Origin Pro 5000 and our newest addition the Zenotech Select Hybrid wet/dry mill allowing for quick and precise milling of your restorations. Once design is completed, the file is sent to a designated mill and configured to “nest” within a puck of Zirconia, e.max, wax, or PMMA provisional materials. We can simultaneously mill over 25 single units from a single puck of material. The resulting restorations offer a precise fit, strength and high aesthetic quality.

Resin Printing

FormsLabs resin printer technology (Stereolithography Apparatus) has advanced from prototyping to actual manufacturing uses and no where is this more cutting-edge than in Robertson Dental Lab. Our three FormsLabs resin printers allows us to print SLA resin models to confirm fit, contacts, and occlusion to precise parameters. This technology allows us to simultaneously mill a crown while its model is being printed on a formslab printer. Another great advantage is our ability to create custom trays, precise surgical and bone reduction guides. Using CBCT DICOM files we have even printed SLA resin skull replicas of both maxillary and mandibular regions including sinus & zygoma areas to study in 3-dimensions possible implant placements for all-on-four cases. Our three FormsLabs Stereolithography Apparatus technologies are the newest addition in our armamentarium of digital technologies.
